Lanzan ITF World Tennis Number como sistema de clasificación oficial en GRB / ITF World Tennis Number launched as official rating system in Great Britain
El Número Mundial de Tenis (WTN) de la ITF se ha lanzado en Gran Bretaña cuando la Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), un socio estratégico clave en el desarrollo del WTN, introdujo la clasificación global para sencillos y dobles como el sistema de clasificación oficial para todos los jugadores en Gran Bretaña. The ITF World Tennis Number has today been launched in Great Britain as the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), a key strategic partner in the development of the World Tennis Number, introduced the global rating for singles and doubles as the official rating system for all tennis players in Britain. Global Tennis Report 2021: Aumenta participación en el tenis / Participation increases
| The ITF has published the ITF Global Tennis Report 2021 which assesses the impact of the pandemic on worldwide tennis participation and other measurables and reveals that tennis participation continues to rise globally. The new report is an important and timely update to the ITF Global Tennis Report 2019, which established for the first time a worldwide picture of tennis performance and participation. The data provides crucial insight that informs the ITF’s global development strategy which sees over $10 million invested each year to ensure the sustainability and long-term health of tennis. El informe es una actualización del Informe Global de Tenis de la ITF 2019, que estableció por primera vez una imagen mundial del rendimiento y la participación del tenis. Weedon inicia nueva fase en su carrera / Weedon begins a new phase in her career
| Una de las tenistas profesionales más destacadas de la región, la guatemalteca Kirsten Andrea Weedon, se inició como entrenadora de la Federación de Tenis de Guatemala, pero sin dejar de lado su faceta como jugadora número uno del país centroamericano. “Quería regresar un poco de lo mucho que me dan el tenis y Guatemala, y creo que es el momento de empezar a aprender a enseñar, porque me toca aprender a transmitir lo que sé”, indicó Weedon a Cotecc. Por el momento, Weedon está trabajando con niños entre 11 y 13 años en las tardes, mientras que en las mañanas se entrena cinco horas diarias, teniendo como norte su participación en el próximo ciclo olímpico. “Es un sueño hecho realidad empezar a formarme para ser entrenadora”, agregó. |

| El dominicano Álvaro Pérez superó este jueves por 63 63 al salvadoreño Andrés Rendón para proclamarse campeón U14 de la Copa Pelícano en Santo Domingo. Pérez también se llevó el título de dobles, jugando justamente con Rendón, con quien venció 64 61 a los guatemaltecos Ronaldo Cottom y Gianluca Martini. Las campeonas femeninas fueron Carlota Balseiro, en sencillos, que derrotó en la final a la trinitense Jordane Dookie por 60 61 mientras que en dobles, Dookie junto a su compatriota Jaeda Lee Daniel Joseph venció al dueto compuesto por otra coterránea, Cameron Wong, y la guatemalteca Margoux Botrán, con pizarra de 63 46 10-6. |
| Pérez and Balseiro triumph in the Pelican Cup U14 The Dominican Álvaro Pérez defeated this Thursday the Salvadoran Andrés Rendón by 63 63 to proclaim himself U14 champion of the Pelican Cup in Santo Domingo. Pérez also took the doubles title, playing precisely with Rendón, with whom he beat 64 61 Guatemalans Ronaldo Cottom and Gianluca Martini.
